JOHN LENNON

MURDERED

First of all, I would like to start this article saying the truth, and the truth is I am not a huge fan of The Beatles or John Lennon´s music, but I do recognize the important task they played in the music industry, as well as in a hole generation that started questioning their goverment, triggered by the songs The Beatles wrote about peace and love...

John Lennon (1940-1980) was an English musician and songwriter that together with Paul McCartney formed the beatles, one of the most succesful bands in all history. The Beatles became famous in England very fast, and it didn´t take a long time until they had ¨conquered¨ the entire world with their catchy songs and ideology. The Beatles finally broke up in 1970, but this didn´t mean the end of John Lennon's legacy, just the beginning.

John Lennon, inspired by her girlfiend Yoko Ono and the political situation of the decade, began a solo career with which he became a controversial figure due to his critical ideas against the war in Vietnam and the goverment led by Richard Nixon, President of the United States of America. John Lennon influenced a hole generation, that believed in the message of songs such as ¨imagine¨ or ¨power to the people¨.

John Lennon died in 1980, in his house of New York when Mark David Chapman shot him four times in the back. The man John Lennon as a musician and a person died back then, but his legend is still in the memory of many people of that generation that remember him as what he was, an outstanding person that made a difference.
